THE SETTING,  The Room 212 Garden

The Room 212 walled garden is down a lane, tucked behind a living willow hedge, to the back of the gallery. This tranquil spot, just off Gloucester Road, is a perfect setting to get creative and immerse yourself in art for the day. Climbing plants cover brightly coloured walls and owner Sarah Thorp‘s Eco House is to one side, painted with murals by Room 212 artists Carla James and Knitted Pea. The garden has different areas to set up tables and easels for safe social distancing.

The garden is a lovely sun trap, but we’ll have a gazebo in case it rains and there are shady areas too. If the forecast is for torrential rain we’ll have to postpone to a different day.

All painting materials included in the price.

Workshops will run from 10.30am – 3pm with breaks for lunch & refreshments.

Coffees and snacks available from Perfecto Coffee next door or a range of wonderful cafes or bakeries on Gloucester Road. Or bring a pack lunch.

Water provided but please bring your own cup. Toilet in Room 212.

YOUR TEACHER, Emma Catherine
Emma is an experienced artist and teacher who has led many painting workshops. She loves sharing her skills and helping people discover their creative side and have fun.

Emma’s work has been displayed in the Room 212 windows since the beginning of 2021 when owner Sarah Thorp was looking for striking artwork to amuse passers-by during Lockdown.
