Fiona Willis
Fiona trained as a paediatric nurse years ago but has always been a tremendous doodler, making patterns on or around the margins of any piece of paper. When she started drawing in a less abstract way she realised that some of her pictures had been in her head since she was a young girl. In the 60s her mother was a draughtswoman and she introduced Fiona to rapidograph pens, letting her use the older ones to doodle with.
The coast and countryside have always been major influences on her pictures and when her children were young they spent many summers under canvas close to the South West coast, combing tidelines for treasures. Fiona still gets so much pleasure from finding a cowrie shell or a beautiful stone!
Fiona’s original works are in pen, ink and watercolour.
