"Drawing is an instinctual action. I doubt there is anyone who hasn't enjoyed this activity, as a child and many have returned to it as an adult."
So says Suzy Berry, who is showing her black and white illustrations at Room 212 for the first time.
"My drawings are based on everyday life; people, animals and inanimate objects. The mundane things we see everyday are taken for granted but, for me, they hold detail, interest and memories for everyone."
Inspired by many different styles, such as Japanese brush work, cartoons and traditional watercolours, Suzy has drawn on scenes from everyday life and shown that what we see every day can, with creative interpretation, evoke deep feelings and strong emotions, as much as any exotic location or perfectly rendered masterpiece might.
