Denise Fotheringham

Documentary Photographer

Denise is an ex-English and Theatre Studies teacher who has had a passion for photography since getting her first real camera in 1982...

In June 2008 she gave up the security and salary of her teaching career and is now currently on the Documentary Photography degree course at University of Wales, Newport.

Recent projects have included street portraits of young people with red hair (seemingly the gene will have died out by 2050 - if you believe certain scientists) and a body of work on a 71 year old man who lives life to the full.

The profile image comes from a body of work about working class weddings.
