Jewellery and Mixed Media Pieces

I am a foundation student at Bristol School of Art. My main areas of work are illustration, fashion and craft.

It is fitting that the venue for this is exhibition is on Gloucester Road as this is where I gather my ideas and materials.

My work is born from every day life; the sites, sounds and smells of the city. I have a fascination with people, the face is a central motif for this exhibition. I find my inspiration from the broad mix of cultural references in Bristol; from the spiky silhouette of a multi-coloured housed street, to the explosions of weekend shoppers, swinging tails of beads and braids. The outfits they've imagined for themselves.

In bringing these ideas to my work, I have created mostly mixed media pieces of ink, paper, acrylic, pencil and watercolour.

I use the abundance of charity shops for ideas and materials. A key feature to my work is a recycled element. my jewellery and accessories are made from anything from old hanging mobiles to coat buttons; re-fashioned into contemporary original pieces.
