George Sander-Jackson

Imagery

I am currently completing a degree in Illustration at UWE in Bristol. I have exhibited at the Folk House on two occasions, and have also been involved with the front room arts trail in Totterdown. Recently I came 2nd in the best student animation competition at the Animted Exeter festival for the film 'No-One is Illegal', which can be found on the Fourdocs website (http://www.channel4.com/fourdocs/film/film-detail.jsp?id=61045).

I am interested in human narrative and the different ways this can be explored through both single and sequential imagery. I have just completed a series of work exploring Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among war veterans, but have also explored mining in the 1930's and the implications of 'food miles'. I like to work in a combination of mono-print and mixed media, and create a strong sense of the physicality and texture of artifacts in my images.

Following my degree I am going to combine freelance Illustration with teaching on higher education courses.
