Earth Works - ceramics

My art is inspired by natural materials and processes, and natural subjects. My recent work is focussed on ceramics. I love firing ceramics outdoors, either by bonfire-firing, or in a wood-fired self-constructed brick kiln.

Work to be displayed in this exhibition includes necklaces, small lidded pots, large pots with burnished decoration, and ceramic sculptures of native orchids.

I am passionately interested in wild orchids, finding them in our countryside and recording where they grow. In my sculptures, I use enlarged scale to change the viewer's perspective of these flowers. I want people to see these orchids in a new light.
