Glos Rd Central

Room 212 is at the centre Glos Rd Central, a thriving Art & Lifestyle section of Bristol's famous Gloucester Road

Glos Rd Central was created by traders on the central part of Gloucester Road -‘ the longest street of independent traders in  Europe’ They join together to share events, ideas and information from our community. Our shops are from ‘Pigsty Hill’ up and range from cafes, art galleries, gift shops & furniture makers to fresh fruit & veg shops, hardware stores & bike shops.

In 2016 Room 212 owner Sarah Thorp raised money to install planters of flowers and shrubs outside many of the shops. This was part of the Avon Wildlife Trust My Wild City Campaign http://www.avonwildlifetrust.org.uk/mywildcity

Room 212 is the main organiser of regular events such as the Glos Rd Central Mayfest, which this year took place on Saturday May 6th. We invite artists to put on creative activities along with other community groups, plant sales, children’s activities, live music and dance. For lots of information about Mayfest read the latest edition of our lovely local magazine Bishopston Matters http://www.bishopstonmatters.co.uk/

The 212 Eco House will be open to visitors with tea and cake in the garden and craft activities.https://www.room212.co.uk/212-eco-house

The Gloucester Road Central Christmas Street Part takes place on Thursday 7th December

In 2016 Room 212 initiated a project to put giant Art Banners up on lampposts along Gloucester Road http://glosrdcentral.co.uk/index.php/glos-rd-art-banners

Bristol artists were invited to submit artwork. Look on the facebook page to click ‘like’ on your favourites then look out for news of when the banners will be put in place!
